 The UK Club is one of the largest MX-5 Owners Clubs in the world. Membership is not only open to all owners of MX-5s, Roadsters and Miatas, but also to enthusiasts of the car who have yet to acquire one.

The Club is organised by Area across the country. One of its greatest strengths is the network of Area Co-ordinators who organise local meetings, runs, track days, social gatherings and other events. The Areas publish a monthly newsletter for local members, and there are Area websites that provide up-to-date information on forthcoming local, national and international events and feature reports on past get-togethers.

The Club magazine, Softtop-Hardtop, is published bi-monthly, and features articles from members, technical advice and problem solving, focus articles on modifications as well as information on major MX-5 events both in the UK and elsewhere in the world. The magazine is well supported by Mazda dealerships and the major MX-5 aftermarket suppliers who regularly take advertising space.

Club benefits include discounts on servicing, parts and accessories available to members from the majority of Mazda dealerships across the country, as well as many OEM and non-OEM suppliers.

As a member, you can also take advantage of the Club’s car insurance scheme established with a major underwriter. Over one third of all members have taken out these policies, which are very competitively priced.

 The HSA's highly-regarded magazine 'Speedscene' is published five or six times a year. Subscription is free to HSA members. Edited by journalist Jerry Sturman, the magazine contains reports, articles, photographs and features covering all aspects of sprinting and speed hillclimbing. The high standard of production of the magazine sets it apart from the normal club publication - it is essentially a newsagent quality magazine, dedicated to sprinting and hillclimbing. It also includes advertisements from many prominent companies associated with the sport.

 QED Motorsport is a longstanding supplier of outstanding, performance engines for clubman level motorsport and beyond. Our heritage is with the Lotus-Ford Twincam, which we have been working with for over 30 years, but over time we have selectively added other engines to our stable.

Our first involvement with the Lotus 900 Series engines (907, 911, and 912) followed our developments with the Lotus Sunbeam for hillclimbing. We now offer a comprehensive range of original Lotus and aftermarket parts.

Motorsport also brought us to the Vauxhall/Opel XE which at the time was GM's mainstay production engine and has now become a familiar sight in many motorsport applications.

It's successor the Vauxhall/Opel Ecotec is a very similar design and has similar potential.

Our more recent developments have been for the Rover K series engine which, with it's fitment in the early Elise, has been a return to our suport for Lotus.

For each of the engines that we specialise in we offer a full range of components, including original equipment and our own motorsport developments. We also supply engine upgrade kits which offer the best combinations of our most frequently requested items as cost effective packages.

SPONSORING A CLASS IN THE HSA SPEED CHAMPIONSHIP

The HSA Speed Championship has always been a ‘B’ championship with the underlying objective of encouraging new competitors into our sport. We have many entrants who are regular ‘A’ licence holders who enjoy it for the pleasant company, wide selection of top venues, and the choice of sprints and hill climbs. We are invited to a number of ‘A’ meetings where organisers provide a special class for our ‘B’ licence holders, for example Shelsley, Prescott, Gurston and Harewood.

If you wish to support the championship, standard class sponsorship is £125 plus VAT per single class or £100 plus VAT per class for multiple classes, to be invoiced in May 2008. Sponsors receive the following:
  • 4 free passes to each event.
  • Car decals produced to your design or artwork, produced at cost by Vinyl Signs (the company run by our President) which is chargeable to you.
  • Mention of sponsor at events and presentation luncheon.
  • Mention of sponsor in Speedscene magazine event reports.
  • Sponsor’s name highlighted against the relevant classes on our web site www.hillclimbandsprint.co.uk
  • Sponsor included in the links page on our web site.
  • If required your own ‘sponsors table(s)’ highlighted at the awards luncheon.
