Never been to Werrington before, and I gather trailering through Launceston can be difficult.
Does anyone have any gems of wisdom about getting to Werrington with the least hassle? I'm coming in from a northerly direction.
Ta!

My route is the usual A30 to Launceston and into town, follow the A388 taking a left after descending the hill after about 1 1/2 miles. Bear in mind this route is only open until 8.30am for competitors as the track is then closed and entry only possible from the B3254, as detailed in the regs.
I never have any problem towing through Launceston itself as generally just local traffic although the roads are narrow in places.
Have a good trip - I'm off soon to mingle with the Bank Holiday traffic!

Oh dear! Didn't even make it. Thoroughly pigged off really!!
Firstly I decided to trail the car the 190 miles there because I've got exactly the same problem that manifested itself this time last year, ie combustion material in the coolant, but not -as yet- head gasket failure.
So, I decided to trail the car to Werrington so I could at least compete. Picked up the trailer Saturday morning and spent an hour trying to devise a method of getting my GTM loaded. Despite the best brains of Witney suggesting everything, it proved impossible. It was not the trailer I've hired before, and just wasn't suitable.
Sorry I missed the event. Mind you, getting out of Witney on a Bank Holiday Saturday proved awkward enough. Can't imagine what a 190 mile drive down the M5 to Cornwall with a sick engine (or Disco and trailer) woyld have been like.
Plan to drive to Prescott (35 miles) next weekend, so finges crossed and see some, maybe all, of you there.
Off now to work out plans B, C and D to try and overcome this engine problem, and how I'm going to compete in 3 events in the next 3 weekends!!
Damn and blast!

Very sorry that you had problems and were unable to make Werrington. I looked out for you on Sunday morning and was surprised that you did not appear.
I hope things go better for Prescott and you are able to fathom out the engine issue.

thank you i have no real problems apart from no time to get my car finished to even start the season. one question though to get regs for events do i need to register for the championship or is just being a hsa member enough. i dont have time to do a championship.

All 'B' events are open to members of the organising club and to invited clubs and championships. Therefore, if the HSA is invited you can send in an entry, although if the event is very popular you will stand a better chance of being accepted if you are also a registered championship competitor if it is a round of the Aldon/HSA.
Whilst being registered should mean that you will duly receive entry forms it is always best to be a bit proactive and chase them yourself with the entry secretary of the promoting club. This info is generally on the club web site but any problems give me or another committee member a call. You do not need to be registered in the championship to get an entry if the HSA is invited.
All 'A' events are open to drivers with an 'A' licence although you can get into some of the grander affairs like Shelsley, Prescott, etc. on a 'B' licence if registered for the Aldon/HSA.
That lot is probably as clear as mud but it will soon become obvious - hurry up with the car then!
